Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Bestie, our AI voice companion service available at talkbestie.app ("Service").
1) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By accessing Bestie you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2) Not medical or emergency services
Bestie provides supportive, conversational interactions. It is not a medical device, mental‑health service, or a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not use Bestie for emergencies. If you are in crisis or may be a danger to yourself or others, call your local emergency number or a crisis hotline immediately.
3) Account and access
- Sign in with Apple. Access requires an Apple ID using Apple’s native sign‑in.
- Permissions. Microphone access is required to conduct calls. You can disable microphone access in device settings, but the core voice experience will not function without it.
- Sessions. One active voice session per account at a time.
- Connectivity. Calls require network connectivity; certain wallet information may remain visible offline.
4) Subscriptions, minutes, and billing
- Auto‑renewable subscriptions. If you purchase a subscription, payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Consumable top‑ups. Minutes you add via top‑ups are credited immediately and expire 12 months after purchase.
- Minutes and metering. Calls are metered per second; totals are rounded up to the nearest 30 seconds at session end. Subscription minutes reset monthly and do not roll over.
- Pricing. Prices may vary by region and are shown in‑app during purchase.
- Refunds. Transactions are processed by Apple; refund requests are handled by Apple (see reportaproblem.apple.com).
5) Acceptable use
When using the Service, you will not:
- Violate any law or infringe others’ rights, privacy, or intellectual property.
- Engage in harassment, abuse, or content that is unlawful, harmful, or deceptive.
- Attempt to access accounts or data without authorization, or interfere with the Service’s operation.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the Service, including attempting to circumvent metering or limits.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
6) User content and license
You own your inputs and the content you provide. You grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive license to process and use your content solely to operate and improve the Service (for example, to transcribe audio, generate responses, and maintain memory features). See our Privacy Policy for details.
7) Intellectual property
The Service, including associated content, trademarks, and technology, is owned by Bestie Labs and its licensors. Except for the rights expressly granted to you, all rights are reserved. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.
8) Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties of any kind and disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including fitness for a particular purpose and non‑infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error‑free operation or that responses will be accurate, complete, or reliable.
9) Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Bestie Labs and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10) Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bestie Labs from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles. The exclusive venue for disputes shall be the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
12) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
